01 Mar Style Tip: Versatility with Vests
Let’s talk about the versatility of vests. Trade your usual blazer for a polished vest and elevate your wardrobe with a little something new for spring. Wear your favorite vests with trendy flare jeans, tailored pencil skirts, dresses, and skinny jeans. The trick here is keeping a portion of your outfit form fitting.
Tuck a fitted turtle neck into your favorite pencil skirt, like I did here with this Badgley Mischka black and white stripe skirt. Show off your waist with a statement belt. I love adding a neutral color pop with my camel ADA belt. You can layer with an extra-long vest when you’re showing off your shape underneath. If you really want to show off your curves, try belting over the vest instead. Make sure to pull the look together with accessories to match your statement belt for a work day chic ensemble. Saddle brown accessories, strappy heels, and tassel accents are in-season staples.
It’s casual Friday and you’re right on trend in a pair of light wash flare jeans. Wear your fitted turtleneck un-tucked this time and layer with the long vest again. A peep toe platform or chunky wedge will elongate your legs and polish up this 70’s inspired look for the workplace. Rock the look right into the weekend!
As the weather warms, opt for sleeveless tops with your vests. This printed Trina Turk cami adds a pop of print underneath the sophisticated black BCBG vest. Add some edge to the look with a dynamite leather pencil skirt or black skinny pants. Up your style game with on-trend lace up heels and a fabulous fringe clutch. I added a little spring color pop to these looks with gold and turquoise jewels.
Out with the old, in with the new. Now is time to inVEST in some quality wardrobe staples and infuse a few new spring trends into your wardrobe!
XOXO,
Morgan
