20 Oct Suit Yourself: Elevate Your Wardrobe with Front Door Fashion
This fall we’re suiting up with the season’s biggest trend: tailored staples. Blazers and other workwear-inspired pieces aren’t a brand new idea, but this year we’re putting a whole new spin on a familiar look. Suiting has taken the fashion world by storm this year, and we’re seeing it used in such fun and creative ways. Think leather skirt suits, velvet blazers, unexpected colors, and bold silhouettes. This year, we’re taking suits from the office, to happy hour, to weekend errands, to a night out – there’s a suit for every occasion!
Full Suiting
The primary difference between the suiting looks we’ve seen in the past and now, is the full suit set. Previously, pairings of blazers and pants or even jeans have graced both the runways and our own personal closets. Dressing for fall just got easier with two piece sets!
Silhouettes
Another notable difference is that silhouettes have slimmed down from the suits we’ve seen before. Last fall, oversized blazers were all the rage but tailored looks have made a big comeback this year. Slightly more form-fitting, these suiting looks harken back to 80s power dressing but with a fresh and modern take.
Have fun with it!
Get creative with the styling of your suit and think outside the box of classic, dark neutrals! Play with color, pattern, and fabrics in your suit set. Find one in a deep jewel tone, faux leather, plaid, or tweed for a bolder look, or reach for a warm neutral if you’re not quite ready to commit to a statement suit. Add a romantic touch with a sheer, detailed blouse layered underneath, or take your suit out on the town with a moody, sparkly look.
