22 Feb 5 Ways To Transition Your Sweaters Into Spring
Most of us have spring fever, but don’t pack away your winter sweaters just yet! With unpredictable weather ahead keep your warm winter knits within reach. From winter to spring and all the nasty weather in-between knits should be your style BFF! Simply pair them with lightweight or bright spring staples for an unexpected (and welcomed!) twist. See how our Stylist Director, Lindsey Peet, has chosen to style her favorite FDF sweaters for spring below!
1. Monochromatic Color Palette
Color coordinate your lightweight cashmere sweater in a soft color with your favorite spring pencil skirt for a monochromatic look. Monochromatic looks are especially nice if you’re petite because they will elongate you. Front tuck the sweater into the skirt to draw attention to your waistline. To make this look feel like spring stick with pastel colors.
2. Color Blocking
Brighten up those bad weather days with your favorite pop-of-pink sweater. Reviving this bright winter staple for spring is easy when paired with complimentary pants that are equally bright! We are loving hot pink and green right now because it screams Gucci spring 2019! Finish the outfit with minimal accessories and a with a shoe that pulls it all together.
3. Spring For The Pants
Who says a chino is just for office casual? These wide leg pants in khaki are the ultimate spring trend! Dress them down with sneakers and your favorite graphic sweater for a casual spring look. Also, take a look at those shoes! We now have a very small selection of sneakers for sale. Ask your FDF Stylist about them in your next box.
4. Dress Down Your Midi Skirt
A silk midi skirt is a classic staple (or should be) in any wardrobe. To dress down this classic piece, pair it with a printed sweater. Again, front tuck your sweater into your skirt to define your waistline and pair with coordinating shoes. We just marked down this fun Cashmere & Cupcakes sweater that pairs beautifully back to blue, black or white jeans for spring so ask your FDF Stylist to add it to your next box.
5. Lighten Up Your Denim
Refresh your winter statement sweater by pairing it with a pair of light wash denim. Light denim is perfect for spring and will make any winter sweater a little less heavy. Pair with sandals with a pop of color or, if it’s still too chilly, a bootie.
